Responsible to the Chief Nursing Officer for the administrative oversight, coordination and management of Nursing Services Department.
The AVP of Nursing Services is responsible for organizing and administering the Department of Clinical Services at the hospital and implementing standards of car The value you'll bring to the team:
o Maintatins safe environments through strict enforcement of all Infection Control policies.
o Implements hospital standards related to staffing, budget compliance and HHPD.
o Monitors bedside reports, hourly rounding, 3-2-1's and hand-off communication standards.
o Implements and monitors fall reduction initiatives.
o Monitor mobility program compliance and implement initiatives as deemed necessary in collaboration with Dir of IP Rehab.
o Monitor rapid response team program.
o Review quality dashboard and implement action plans as deemed necessary on assigned units.
o Implements core curriculum and competency validation through ALN on assigned units.
o Attends and summarizes assigned corporate and regulatory meetings and communicates information to clinical leaders as applicable.
o Implements significant corporate clinical initiatives as directed by and in collaboration with CNO.
o Follows and administers HR policies as applicable to assigned units.
Consults with HR Director (HRD) and CNO as needed.
Attention given to:
Attendance policy.
Professional apprearance policy.
Progressive discipline policy.
Positive work environment policies and practices.
Suspected drug diversion guideline.
o Cooperates in the formulation of policies and practices established by the hospital administrators/CNO.
Defines and interprets policies as needed.
o Plans with Medical Staff and Department heads for coordination of services and activities in collaboration with Medical Chiefs and CNO.
o Conducts Leaders Rounding on pts and staff as prescribed.
o Assures monthly presence on night shift.
o Conducts monthly staff meetings that are accessible to all shifts with CNO in attendance twice/yr.
o Enforces grievance policy on assigned units.

o Focuses on responsibilities for employee engagement on assigned units.
o Develops charge nurses into a clinically and administratively effective team on assigned units.
o Develops a solid working relationship with the executive Team.
o Provides ongoing assessment and feedback of performance for all clinical employees on assigned units.
o Focuses on controlling costs and reviewing budgets monthly on assigned units and alerting CNO to variances.
o Keeps the hospital administrator/CNO informed of plans, equipment, systems,policies, and procedures.
o Meets CMS and DNV requirements on assigned units and assists housewide as needed.
o Develops a working relationship with professional organizations and groups and acts in leadership capacities.
o Represents the hospital to professional community groups and actively participates within and outside the hospital to promote its reputation, educational and research activities related to the quality of services.
o Manages the GetWell Network and ensures use to its capacity on assigned units.
Works with reports on assigned unit to develop new GetWell initiaitive to support regulatory compliance and patient experience and clinical quality.
o Develops standardization between all IP units with daily processes/worksheets/tools in order to promote ability of staff and Leads to float with ease.
QualificationsThe expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Bachelor Degree in Nursing required.
Master's degree preferred.
3 years of nursing management experience over multiple units in an acute care setting.
Up to date Nursing license in the state.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
Masters in Nursing or Healthcare or Business area Strong leadership interpersonal and conflict management skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills with high degree of initiative and independent decision-making.
Ability to establish and sustain a positive impact at all levels of the organization.
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
Current BLS Current registration with Florida State Board of Nursing as a registered professional nurse.
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION PREFERRED:

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
