Summary:
Provides operational office/clinic support in delivery of patient care in an outpatient environment.
Responsible for answering phones, scheduling appointments, processing medical records, scheduling out-patient procedures, check-in and check-out patients, insurance verification and obtaining referrals & authorizations from Primary Care Physician and/or insurance carrier.
Assisting in the clinic when needed to bring patients back, taking vital signs, and clean rooms.
Shift:
Full time Days Monday - Friday No holidays Primary
Responsibilities:
Assists patients with check in and check out.
Answers phone in a professional manner to meet the need of the call.
If message left, returns call in appropriate time frame.
Takes phone messages when needed and distributes to appropriate staff member.
Provides data and assistance to Director / Office Coordinator as required Communicates in a cordial, professional manner with patients via phone and in person to meet the patient's needs as soon as possible Maintains correspondence, including progress notes and new patient packets Verifies patient data and insurance to ensure it is updated for accurate billing, inputting updated information into system as required Assists with correspondence in obtaining medical necessity letters to appropriate insurance company or business entity Handles patient concerns or refers to administration appropriately Assists patient by scheduling new and follow up appointments Reports to work as scheduled and completes work within a designated time frame Clinic:
Assist in clinic when needed Facilities patient flow into exam rooms in a timely manner according to the schedule Obtains VS and reports abnormalities to the RN Cleans and prepares patient exam/treatment rooms between visits and at the end of each clinic Manages the supplies in the exam room by daily restocking Collects and prepares instruments for transport to the hospital for sterilization Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols Qualifications Required:
Previous experience in a medical environment High School Graduate or equivalent 1 or more years related experience in a medical office/outpatient environment This facility is an equal opportunity employer and complies with federal, state and local anti-discrimination laws, regulations and ordinances.
